We are thrilled to bring you the highlights of our vibrant community's adventures from 2023……Our Chinese community has been buzzing with energy, laughter, and a rich tapestry of cultural experiences in Hertfordshire.
Springtime Extravaganza:
From enchanting Chinese songs to captivating storytelling, engaging Chinese games, and the magic of arts and crafts – our gatherings were a joyous celebration of culture and togetherness. The Hatfield grounds echoed with the laughter of families, creating lasting memories in the heart of spring.
Dragon Boat Festival Delight:
June saw us come together for a spirited celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival. Crafting traditional zhongzi and launching paper dragon boats into the imaginative seas, we embraced the festival's traditions with creativity and flair.
Artistic Exploration in July and August:
The summer months were dedicated to the exploration of Chinese paintings. Children delved into the world of brush strokes, colors, and creativity, creating masterpieces that reflected the beauty of our cultural heritage.
Mid-Autumn Magic:
Families and children united to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, sharing moonlit moments and festive joy. The warmth of community shone bright under the full moon, creating memories that will linger in our hearts.
Christmas Fun in Mandarin:
2023 Christmas our little ones immersed themselves in the joy of Christmas activities in Mandarin The holiday season became a canvas for cultural expression and festive delight.
Celebrate the year of the dragon
On January 21, 13 of our family gathered in Hatfield to celebrate Chinese New Year. Parents and children alike immersed themselves in traditional Chinese crafts, indulged in delicious Chinese cuisine, and actively participated in a Chinese New Year drama. It was a joyous occasion filled with cultural exploration and shared festivities.
Lantern Festival
On March 3rd, 18 of our family members gathered in Welwyn Garden City to celebrate the Lantern Festival. Parents and children alike immersed themselves in traditional Chinese lantern making, enjoyed sweet dumplings, and actively participated in a Chinese Lantern Festival drama. The atmosphere was vibrant with cultural exploration and the spirit of togetherness.
Spring Theme
On April 21st, thirteen of our family members gathered in Welwyn Garden City for spring-themed activities. Parents and children practiced yoga sessions together in Mandarin with our community member and yoga teacher, Theodara. The children enjoyed a chocolate egg hunt, arts and crafts, and actively participated in spring and wind-themed Mandarin dramas led by our community member and stand-up comedian, Tingting. We are truly proud that we created such a wonderful Chinese community together.
