Jinbu 1 is the first formal stage of structured Mandarin learning and an important transition from language input to practical language use. At this stage, students gradually move from pinyin support to a character-based learning approach, developing the ability to read and express themselves through Chinese characters.
In listening and speaking, students can take part in simple everyday conversations, answer questions in one or two sentences, and express basic ideas. In reading, they are able to read graded readers and short texts of around 50–100 characters, gradually improving comprehension through repeated exposure. In writing, students can produce simple short paragraphs of around 30–60 characters, moving from single sentences to basic structured writing.
The course is organised around thematic units, including topics such as hobbies, daily life, family and friends, and festivals and culture. Each unit includes approximately 8–10 graded readers, together with vocabulary and sentence pattern practice, speaking activities, character writing, and cultural learning, ensuring language is always taught in meaningful context.
Lessons combine game-based interactive learning with structured writing practice, helping students stay engaged while gradually building academic learning skills. Home learning includes around 30 minutes of workbook writing practice per week and 30 minutes of App-based extension activities to reinforce reading, vocabulary, and writing skills.
By the end of Jinbu 1, students are able to hold basic conversations, read simple storybooks, and write short Chinese texts, preparing them for progression to Jinbu 2.
Jinbu 1是8岁以上儿童正式基础学习阶段，也是从语言输入过渡到系统语言应用的重要起点。在这一阶段，学生逐步从拼音辅助过渡到以汉字为核心的学习方式，建立“汉字驱动”的阅读与表达能力。
学生在听说方面能够进行简单日常交流，用一到两句话回答问题并表达基本想法。在阅读方面，学生能够阅读约50–100字的分级绘本与短文，通过反复输入提升理解能力。在写作方面，学生能够完成30–60字的简单短文，从单句表达逐步过渡到基础段落结构。
课程以主题单元形式推进，包括兴趣爱好、日常生活、家庭与朋友以及节日文化等。每个单元配备约8–10本分级阅读材料，并结合词汇与句型训练、口语表达、汉字书写及文化学习，使语言学习始终处于真实语境中。
