Level 2|汉字起步-Learn to Read in Chinese Characters(5+)

学习时长:约1年 | Length: approx. 1 year

孩子学习常用高频汉字,从认识单字逐步过渡到阅读简单句子,并开始练习基础汉字书写和简单句式表达。通过有趣、轻松的学习方式,孩子逐渐建立阅读信心。学习一段时间后,孩子可以阅读简单句子和短文,并与家长一起进行亲子阅读,尝试阅读简单的中文汉字绘本,顺利完成从拼音阅读到汉字认读和绘本阅读的过渡。

Children learn common high-frequency Chinese characters and gradually move from recognising single characters to reading simple sentences. They begin practising basic character writing and simple sentence structures. Through fun and engaging activities, children build confidence in reading. Over time, they can read simple sentences and short passages and enjoy shared reading with parents using simple Chinese character picture books, making a smooth transition from Pinyin to Chinese character reading.

我们的7岁起步课程体系专为晚入学学生设计,
适合零基础或已有少量中文基础的孩子,
通过循序渐进的三阶段学习,快速建立中文能力,
最终达到 GCSE Mandarin 学术水平。

Our curriculum pathway, starting from age 7, is designed for late starters.
Suitable for children with little or no prior Chinese, it guides them step by step to quickly develop proficiency,
ultimately preparing them for GCSE Mandarin academic level.

课程特点:互动课堂 + 系统阅读与写作训练 + 文化探索,
帮助孩子在短时间内高效成长,并为考试与高级学习做好准备。
所有阶段课堂中文比例约50%,中文与英文结合授课。

The programme features interactive lessons, structured reading and writing training, and cultural exploration,

  • Ting Ting

    Ever since Isla started attending Jenny's weekend Chinese classes, her enthusiasm and curiosity for the Chinese language have remained strong since her return from a vacation in China. Isla has shown a great willingness to participate in the weekend classes, and she thoroughly enjoys having Jenny as her teacher. She proudly brings home newly acquired words, sentences, nursery rhymes, and concepts learned in class.

    Isla also enjoys the company of her fellow classmates and their parents who attend the classes. As a parent, I greatly appreciate the supportive and non-intrusive atmosphere, which allows the children to engage in independent learning opportunities.

    I am also deeply impressed by the quality of the course materials and admire Jenny's ability to instill confidence in the children, especially when it comes to reading and writing. I never expected three-year-old children to possess the willingness and ability for such tasks, but Jenny excels at nurturing their curiosity and self-assurance. This makes learning Chinese feel entirely natural and enjoyable for the kids.

    I personally feel that we are very fortunate to have Jenny and her Chinese classes in our community, and we plan to continue attending them. Go, Jenny!

    My child has been learning Chinese with Jenny for nearly a year, and there has been significant progress. Not only has my child become more confident in speaking Chinese, but his social skills have also improved. From initially being shy and reserved, He can now confidently engage with others. This progress is inseparable from the guidance and encouragement provided by the teacher.

    The small classroom environment is lively and engaging, with learning through games. It's evident that my child enjoys it very much, as he eagerly look forward to every Saturday morning class, even giving up the opportunity to sleep in.
