Jenny Lin
Jenny Lin is the founder and lead Mandarin teacher at Herts Mandarin, with over 10 years of teaching experience in both Shanghai and London international schools. As a bilingual mother of two, she is passionate about creating joyful and engaging language lessons that help children build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of Chinese language and culture. She also designs fun and educational Mandarin learning books for her own children, as well as for her students and their parents, supporting Mandarin learning at home and making language learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
Shulan
Shulan is a Mandarin and Cantonese teacher at Herts Mandarin with over 12 years of experience working with young children in UK schools. She is also an EYFS teacher with strong experience in early years education and teaching Chinese to nursery-aged children. Originally from Guangzhou, she creates engaging lessons through arts, crafts, and cultural activities. Since 2018, she has taught students of different ages and abilities and also works as a GCSE Chinese oral examiner. She is passionate about Chinese education and is known for her patience, warmth, and supportive teaching style.
Yinling
Yinling is a Teaching Assistant at Herts Mandarin. She comes from Xi’an, China, and graduated from Xi’an International Studies University with a degree in French Language and Culture. She holds the Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL) and has over 11 years of experience living in the UK. She is a supportive team member who assists both teachers in the classroom and students in their learning. Yinling is also our school librarian, helping to manage learning resources and encourage children’s love of reading and Chinese culture.
Sarah
Sarah is Mandarin and Cantonese teacher at Herts Mandarin with over 27 years of teaching experience in Hong Kong primary schools, where she also served as a Chinese Subject Leader. She is experienced in the IB PYP approach and passionate about supporting children of all abilities, including those with additional learning needs. Through engaging and interactive lessons, Sarah helps students feel confident, enjoy learning Chinese, and build strong foundations in both Mandarin and Cantonese, including GCSE preparation.
